Irreverence was formed in the autumn of 1997. Founding members Emilio Guzman and Eric Sowell, brought together by an affinity for European Metal, forged a friendship that would evolve into Irreverence. With common influences musically and ideologically the foundation for this melodic black/death metal band from Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas was formed. As we started composing, we quickly discovered our collaborations needed a drum line. In 1998, we enlisted the services of Eric Kandrashoff, a versatile and technical drummer. This union developed a merging of aggression and technically charged melody. Our refinement was coming to fruition. After many months of work and preparation, we were ready to give an aggressive voice to the music we had written. Jamie Moore with his deep growls and agonizing screams took the vocal duties. Now what was needed was a solid bass line to complement our sonic landscape and after an exhaustive search, we were handed bassist Jeremy Bousson. Much of the next two years was spent composing our unique brand of metal and playing the local club scene. Eric Kandrashoff left the band in the winter of 2000 to attend to personal matters and we enlisted drummer Hensley Souryavong to cover drum duties. After achieving a local fan base we decided it was time to go into the studio and put our talent and ambition into something those fans could blast anytime they wanted to. In April of 2001, our self-titled EP saw the light of day. 2002 saw the departure of bassist Jeremy Bousson and drummer Hensley Souryavong. Eric Kandrashoff returned to the drums in spring of 2002 and in the autumn of 2002 Luis Jaramillo took over bass duties as a permanent member. In early 2003 Jamie Moore decided to leave Irreverence to become the full time vocalist for Demonseed, Luis took over on vocals/Bass for Irreverence. Currently we continue to rehearse and write new material for a follow up CD. ***We have recently parted ways with Eric Kandrashoff and are currently looking for a new drummer.
